Somali Young Talent and Social Media Actors

These three young men are well-known public figures on Somali social media. They are famous for their entertainment content and humor, which brings joy to millions of people. Each of them has separate accounts and regularly receives hundreds of thousands to millions of views per post, showcasing their creativity and talent.

The two young men on the sides are twin brothers, Yusuf Muse and Ibrahim Muse. Weeks ago, they appeared widely in the media after a difficult incident related to justice. One of the brothers was seen crying while asking for fairness, while the other was in shock, with images circulating from a police station, hospital, and public places. Eventually, the case ended with police procedures completed, and the brothers appeared together again in a photo showing unity and peace.

The young man in the middle, Mr. Fiigsan, is also a public figure. He appeared in the media seeking justice and public support for his brother, who was jailed following a car accident case that involved compensation of 15,000 US dollars.

On this night, they were seen together in public, making millions of people happy through their content. At the same time, they were dealing with serious personal struggles behind the scenes.

This does not mean they are weak. It reflects what many people describe as poor access to justice, a problem that can happen anywhere in the world, including Somalia.

Somali youth make up an estimated 75% of the population under the age of 35, living in a country with one of the highest unemployment rates and poverty levels globally. Somalia is a post-conflict nation where the government is still working to rebuild security systems, institutions, and policies.

Young people need support, investment, and opportunities to develop their talents, ideas, and innovations—both individually and collectively.

The positive public spaces and opportunities that these public figures showcase are made possible by local investors, while security and infrastructure such as roads are provided by the state.
